Harley-Davidson Street Glide

The bike that I can test this time, is the Harley-Davidson Street Glide®. I receive the bike as I return the Harley-Davidson Tri Glide® Ultra at Central Harley-Davidson. After a brief explanation about the new bike we swap keys. It takes some getting used to on two wheels especially at the traffic lights, do not you forget to put your foot on the ground.

The Harley-Davidson Street Glide®, also part of the Project Rushmore models, is a beautiful tourer with sporty and classic lines. The Street Glide®, as well as the Tri Glide® Ultra, all the innovations and technological improvements that have been made in the touring models from Project Rushmore. In addition to the much-discussed liquid-cooled engine.
The bike I get is performed in metal-flake blue with beautiful classical scalops in black and blue. It is complete and it even looks like it is equiped with various extras, but that is not the case, the Street Glide® is just really compleet. But you can still upgrade, of course, personally I would go for the navigation set, which unfortunately is not there.
The bike might look big and heavy, but it rides very smooth the Street Glide® is very easy to handle. The highway is where he belongs and here you feel how a real touring bike should feel like. The springs are tight but you don’t feel that while riding, it is very comfortably and you can drive long distances effortlessly. The beautiful Batwing fairing keeps the wind away and with the new (adjustable) air inlet valve in the fairing, the turbulence around your helmet is minimal. ABS is now standard on most engines and the new Street Glide is equipped with it too, what smoothly makes the bike come to a halt at any speed. There is a lot of wind when I go on to the highway and even with the fairing i have trouble keeping the bike strait, but that should not spoil the fun, it’s still a pleasure to drive. It is a fantastic bike, maybe even a potential successor to my trusty old Heritage .

Soon a report about the European press presentation of the new Harley-Davidson Street 750.
